Wow....I am excited to get back from the Holidays to use my new technology. I have already used the manga high program in the classroom and I seen major improvements. Motivation, love of math and mastering concepts are a few. I like to use wordle and prezi. I will like to incorporate  edmodo, google docs and  animoto into my lessons once I become more familiar with them. After the holidays, I will have new centers set up or student lessons on programs such as study ladder and ten marks. But before I incorporate my new centers and lessons, I will go over safety and responsibilities and how to make them accountable. If any one has any ideas, please pass them on! Mrs. Foster mentioned a tech manager and tech "go to person". I love it! Not only do I love it, the kids are happy to have a role in the classroom learning environment. At first, I was bummed about having to do this but now and I am eager to start after realizing that these children learn differently from the old days. I hope to
reach all my students.

The digital world is amazing but there are responsibilities that must be taken. You need to ensure that the students have online safety and security, digital etiquette,  and rights. There is a great video clip on u tube called mouse tales. I will show this video and stop it when it poses a question. The students will think and have time to share their responses. I will also provide some of the suggested websites to the parent so they are familiar with
the rights. They librarian also has a great book about responsibilities on the digital world.

It is very important to integrate technology into the classroom but it must the students must be held accountable. In today's world the kids are bored with the traditional way of learning. Technology is one way to motivate the students to learn. Not only do they motivate them but the sites and programs are geared to their level. Some of the sites I found are great. One site  is manga high. I have the students use it as a center and they love it. I can look at the medals they earned and we have a celebration every Friday. One of my kids came up to me today and thought is was Friday. He  was so upset that is was one because he won his first gold and could not wait to get his prize. I plan to use other ones such as, study ladder and ten marks. They are based on more subjects than just math and have ways to look at the students working on them. As a reference, I like the site Khanacademy.com. The students can go the this website to get a special tutor for a concept. Another fun one, is Brainpop. The students love watching these and they are educational. I can not wait to get started !!!

I like the net books because it has a web cam. The students can use it to skype.
The students can use it when they go on a field trip.
The iPod and iPad is very convenient. It is a mini portable computer.
The students can use the camera to take pictures of objects to represent a vocabulary word.
They then can transfer the pictures to a slide show and present it to the class.
I  would  use the devices as centers, on field trips and project based assignments.
To manage the devices, I would have a one person in charge of checking them in and out. One person as the
technology geek to help others on apps. When I use the computers in the classroom, I use a rotating system to allow each student to have time.
I can not wait to get them!!!
